Kenya Shaded Relief 90m Rasteradf
Processing Information: Program Name: SRTM2DSM.AML Purpose: Create a polygonal footprint for each 1x1 degree tile of SRTM data processed. The attributes of each tile, such as, resolution and date processed, are linked to this polygonal footprint. Procedure: Generate footprint Build topology Add and populate attributes Define projection as geographic with WGS84 datum Convert to shapefile Environment: Microsoft Windows 2000 Version 5.0 (Build 2195) Service Pack 2; ESRI ArcInfo Workstation 8.2
Description
The cell values represent illumination value from 0 - 255. Shaded relief surfaces are mainly used as background in mapping and displaying data. [RETURN] This spatial data set is a derivative product of the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission(SRTM) digital elevation model(DEM) data set. The SRTM DEM has gaps or voided data values through its coverage area. These gaps are a result of a number of causes such as shadowing, phase unwrapping anomalies, or other radar-specific causes[Ref: NASA]. These gaps were filled with existing lower resolution DEM data sets using a SRTM/DEM merge process developed by the United States National Geo-spatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).
